| New Extended First Databank Clinical Checks Module: New routine uses the NDC number exclusively (not generic code). Since the NDC number must be valid for clinical checking to work we display an invalid NDC with a red background in the Formulary and added an invalid NDC clinical review type to the clinical screening module. Currently AIP has the ability to report invalid NDC's as part of the formulary detail report. |
| Clinical Reviews: 1) Provided the ability to turn off Drug-Food Interactions. 2) Added ignore interactions list to the formulary defaults area so users can tailor the drug-drug interactions currently provided by First Databank. 3) In <Utilities>, <Options>, <Clinical reviews>: Created checkboxes that allow a supervisor to force users to enter "required" Clinical Review fields [i.e., [ ]Type [ ]Problem [ ]Action [ ]Outcome]. If the option for a field is checked, the user will not be allowed to exit the clinical review alert screen and/or complete the order until the required field is completed. |
| Upgraded to new 8 character AHFS code and added the therapeutic class description from First Databank to the formulary defaults tab. |
| Order Renewal report: Now sorts similar to MAR in order to help nurses who use the report to update the patient MAR. |
| Added new option to Order Entry Option setting: [Stop date grace period (days):] - "Hard Stop" ; "DC'ing Upon Discharge". This option will automatically DC orders after a patient is discharged. |
| Census Report: Created enhanced sorting ability including the ability to sort alphabetically by patient last name. |
| Merge Profiles function - added ability to limit access to merged profiles by setting either 'No Access' or 'View Only' on 'Orders' in Utilities area, Security tab. |
| Continuum of Care report enhancements to initial release suggested by our Customers: 1) Remove the "Physician: Name" line that prints for every Inpatient order. Adds no value to the report for the doctor reviewing the meds and uses a line per order. OK to print the Attending/Admitting Dr. with the Patient info at top of each page. 2) Print Inpatient Order's "Comments" field. 3) Request an area or Note field after each order. This is for the Dr. to write changes, modifications and/or therapeutic substitution. 4) Indent the Sig text after listed Order Ingredient(s) to add visual break in text. 5) Page Numbering, now prints *** Patients Last Page*** on last page. 6) Requests that the Pre-Admission Medication Order(s) "Sig" and "Comments" fields print on the reports. |
| Maintenance Rules: Enabled zero as a valid choice for the time component of a discharge rule (as in 0 days or 0 weeks), did not enable this functionality for purge rules. |
|
Creatinine Clearance Calculation enhancement for Cockroft-Gault: If patient weight is 20% or more over ideal weight, program now uses adjusted body weight, aka IDW (ideal dosing weight). |
| Added ability to import acquisition costs from ECHO (a desk-top ordering system provided by Amerisource-Bergen). ECHO allows the customer to create a file (EXPORT PRICE CHANGES Universal Format) that contains a list of Formulary items with NDC and Acquisition Cost. |
| Fill List Reports: 1) Added option to print Allergies as an additional check to prevent patient medication errors. 2) Made drug description defaults same as MAR's for consistency. 3) Allow Inactive Orders to be Included and use DC Date instead of Stop Date |
| Added ability to have scheduled one-time orders, i.e. QD x1 will schedule one dose at next available daily dose time. 'QD stat' or 'QD once' or 'Stat', 'Once', 'X1' without a scheduling code will schedule a dose immediately. |
| Added New Report Progress Notes that displays (Date, Note text, Follow up status, Follow up date) for one patient or all patients, for patients of any status, for a specified time period and the notes Complete/Incomplete status. |
| Order Information report: 1) Report now shows DC date as opposed to Stop Date for discontinued orders. 2) Also fixed issue where initials were being cut-off in some instances. |
| For financial reporting, added ability to print just the totals for the charges transmitted detail report as an efficient way to provide the total quantity and total dollars transmitted over a period of time (usually a month). |
| Corrections:
Note: Many of the corrections listed below were made in a previous version, but were not documented until the release of this version. |
