Version 200507180800 Update Information - View All Updates

New and Improved Features:

You will be installing ALL prior releases that have been posted since your current program version.  Therefore, use the "View All Updates" link (above) to review ALL of the releases that may affect you.  Your current program version appears at the top of your Ascend-IP screen (in "yyyymmddhhmm" format).

Created a new system order type called 'other meds' in order to track patient's own medications within AIP. Included new order entry screen to pick a drug from the First Databank Drug List, currently 105,000 items. Uses NDC to perform clinical checks and creates a simple order to documents the route and any instructions. Also, created option to include 'other med' orders with new Continuum of Care Report, designed for clinicians to review patient profile upon admission and discharge.
Report; Drug Utilization Formulary User-defined once again displays Order Description instead of the Formulary Description for the primary Ingredient.
Patient Right Click Menu - Included more menu options and reorganized for ease of use.
Biometric integration Phase 1 - AIP now supports logon by thumbprint.
<http://www.prioregroup.com/> requires Precise 100ax capacitive scanner drivers and configuration in order to be enabled.
HOS website Customer Service user name and password: Store and encrypt password, used for  downloading updates to AIP, in the AIP database.  Also, increased the maximum SQL password accepted on the Setup window to 15 characters.
Distributed and registered the object control extension, MSINET.OCX  to enable automatic program updates.
Order DC Date now being displayed on Patient Profile window instead of Order Stop Date. The rationale is that this is the "True" Stop Date, not the one that was created by the program's default settings.
Formulary Pricing: Selection Criterion DEA Code was enhanced in order to target drugs that are not included in DEA Schedules 1 through 5.
Archive Doctors instead of deleting in order to maintain integrity for CURES reporting and other reports that refer to Doctors.
Added Allergies and other enhancements to the Fill List Report.
Patient Profile Summary and Patient Profile reports: 1) Added ability to select multiple order types upon printing. 2) Display patient's height and weight in both English measurements (inches and pounds) and metric measurements (centimeters and kilos). 3) created separate sections for outpatient and discharged orders. 4) page numbers now reset with each new patient. 5) Added option to include order reference. 6) And, option to set how many days to include discontinued orders.
Missing Patient Information Report - added Pregnancy and Lactation status to the filters list.
Order Information Report - added visual demarcation between patients and added height/weight
Renamed Orders Renewal report to Physician Orders Renewal report in order to meet JACHO requirements.
Now SQL databases can be configured as Trial databases. Trial versions of Ascend-IP limit functionality somewhat.  For instance, you may not enter an unlimited number of patients into a Trial version.
New option to use MDRD/Levey calculation: CL = 186.3 x (Scr)-1.154 x (age, yr)-0.203 x 1.212 (if patient is black) x 0.742 (if female) calculation for Creatinine Clearance.  The Cockroft-Gault computation is still the default.
Added option for how many days to include discharged patients on Select Patient form. Program will also remember that you changed it until you log on again.
Added an user defined setting to include discharged patients when entering misc. and floor stock charges. Default value for the setting is 7 days.
Corrections:

Note: Many of the corrections listed below were made in a previous version, but were not documented until the release of this version.

Trap for Error 5 during connect to server; happens when no printers are installed on the local machine. Windows requires at least one print driver be available during the transfer of reports and labels. Will now proceed to data import on this error.
Fixed an error that, at the start of Daylight Savings Time, caused Ascend-IP to prompt the user that there is a new workstation update every time they login, even when there was no new workstation update.  When Windows adjusts to Daylight Savings Time, Windows re-dates file creation timestamps by adding an hour to the original time. This change confused the Ascend-IP date checking routine that determines if a new update is available.  The date checking routine is no longer sensitive to the hour.
Date Warning Check refinement: disable checks when variable is 0.
Fixed a problem with Common Orders that caused an error 2450 with new Floor Stock Load label.
Verify Orders entered by and verified by display issue has been fixed.
Fixed starter dose calculation to work correctly over the weekend - previously it incorrectly reported both Saturday and Sunday doses.
Fixed bug where a discontinued Order triggered Clinical Review display and Starter Dose prompt.
Fixed Error 3075 while printing Dept Cost Transfer Report. Was being caused by an apostrophe in the department name.
Patient Change Log: Patient type Reference was displayed instead of Patient Type Code.
Order Renewal, Stop Order Notices Reports now exclude MAR "Don't List" Orders.  In most cases, "Don't List" orders are used to charge a special fee (non-drug).
Trap for Error 3051 during connect to server; happens when Labels.MDB, CLabels.MDB, Reports.MDB or CReports.MDB are marked as Read-Only or the user doesn't have full permissions for these files. Will display message and proceed to data import on this error Data import can also fail because of rights issues at which point program will display message and shut down.
Will trap for error 3155 throughout program and report to the user that disk space has run out on the server.
CURES: Add edit to ensure the Doctor's DEA code is long enough to be valid.
