Here is a list of new features and enhancements
- Option added to the setup screen to select
where the report files are stored (client or server). To improve performance
for clients running over a WAN, reports can now be stored on the client
computer which reduces the amount of time it takes to print a
label/form/report.
- When transmitting a NCPDP claim and a copay
amount is received, the program will ask the user if they want to update the
patient portion amount of the claim to the copay amount just received.
- Clinical document templates can now be
assigned to facilities.
- Financial notes support RTF (Rich Text
Format).
- Inventory Control with Lot Data report now
display patient name for order activity. Also, if you don't want to see the
order activity, use the Suppress Detail for this report.
- Under Utilities...Options...Multi-Facilities
Users can now select which field links inventory items across facilities.
- Patient Instructions in the SIG Code has been
changed from a limit of 255 characters to unlimited.
- Facility drop down added to the doctor screen.
- If no NCPDP BIN entered for the payer, the
electronic claim will not be created and transmitted since there is no known
BIN destination.
- HCFA Unit and HCFA Units per Package added to
the First Databank search screen.
- When adding an inventory record, the price
history table is initialized with any starting price amounts.
- Inventory security can be customized down to
the field level.
- Patient location added to the order entry
screen.
- Payer filter added to the scheduling screen.
- Dose quantity included on the IV Label for
supplies.
- To increase performance, the TPN formulary is
only loaded when doing a TPN order instead of when the order screen is
loaded.
- ug changed to mcg for the unit of measure on
the attributes and intrinsics in the TPN calculator.
- Option added to the pricing templates to skip
to the next pricing rule if the calculate price of the rule is not greater
than $0. An example of how this can be used, would be to create a rule that
uses the cost field, but if no cost amount has been entered then program
will go to the next pricing rule until a price has been calculated.
- Inventory Id added to the inventory field.
This field can be used to link similar inventory items across multiple
facilities.
- Title field added to the doctor record.
- Pricing rules now can have an expiration date.
- Program prevents billing an order from the
profile if the payer is marked as a "Do Not Bill" payer.
- Clinical document templates now support Rich
Text Format.
- Facility Phone #2 now prints on the labels.
- Location filter added to the Cancelled Orders,
Invoices Based On Orders and Unbilled Orders reports.
- Option added to the Inventory Usage report to
print only partial usage items.
- Enteral added as an inventory type.
- Location name and address prints on all labels
and the invoice when the option has been turned on to print the Facility
Location instead of the Facility on labels and forms.
- Inventory Group filter added to DME reports.
- Inventory usage shows all inventory/order
activity.
- Patient Id prefix in Options increased to 4
characters.
- Retired status added for DME inventory items.
- NCPDP electronic transactions stored for 30
days, up from 7 days in previous versions.

- AWP replaces the acquisition cost on the order
item screen.
- Program loads faster.
- Labels and reports are stored locally to
improve printing speed.
- Drop down lists load faster resulting in
faster load times for various screens.
- Patient Id field added to the
Admissions/Discharges tab on the patient admissions screen. Each admission
record can have a unique patient id.
- A patient order can be linked to a room
assignment.
- Manufacturers can be added to inventory
records where there is no link to the First Databank manufacturer table.
- 30 added as an option to the Sender Id and
Receiver Id Qualifier fields.
- Patient Id added to the Physician Orders.
- HCPC description text box widened and
lengthened.
- HCPC screen under Utilities displays the
Medicare Fee for the current facility's state.
- Central pharmacy facility added under
Utilities...Options...Facilities. If a central pharmacy is selected and the
order is using a multi-facility counter, the central pharmacy will be used
as the facility when printing the delivery receipt, compound sheet and
physician orders.
- Option added under
Utilities...Options...General to force workstations to be updated.
- Option added to include the physical
description of the inventory item on the order label.
- Option added to include the shipping notes on
the delivery label.
- A/R Reports can now be filtered by user who
entered the claim.
- Alternate charge code can now be searched in
inventory and order entry.
- Order types with no counter now defaulted to
Rx Counter 1.
- ICD9 code included in the NCPDP 5.1
transaction.
- Purchase orders now include strength/per
fields.
- Strength/per fields imported from First
Databank.
- Clinical Documents Follow-up and Financial
Notes Follow-up include option to print not completed/completed documents.
- Server Path URL in the About screen no longer
opens an Explorer window if Ascend-HI is running in Terminal Services mode.
- Security option added at the user level to
enable/disable downloading program updates.
- Security option added under
Utilities...Options...General to force workstation to update when a new
version is available.
- When upsizing an Access database to SQL
Server, table are imported in alpha order.
- When pushing inventory adds/edits to
facilities, multi facility inventory groups are now pushed.
- Prefix/Title added to the security record. The
prefix will print on labels instead of Ascend-HI defaulting to RPh incase
the user who verified the order is not an RPh (for example an RN).
- Entered By and Entered Date now tracked for
Room Assignments.
- When opening a claim from the Financials tab,
the program returns the focus to claim on the Financials tab when saving the
edits.
- When billing from the patient profile screen,
the program will prompt to print the claim upon saving and exiting.
- Option added to include the physical
description of the inventory item on the order label.
- SQL Server database name field added to the
Setup screen.
- Task screen can be sorted can clicking on the
column headers.

- Prescriber phone number will not be sent in

out.

- Inventory quantity in stock correctly
decrements/increments for items marked as dispense as whole units.
- Inventory Usage report fixed when calculating

- Find Claim only searches claims in the current
facility.

- Current label next to the Quantity Authorized
on a new order correctly displays the current fill quantity on the order
screen.

- Pricing contract will ask if you want to save
your changes when closing the form.
- Bug fixed when running pricing rules.
- Error 9 fixed on order entry.
- Error 6 fixed when copying/pasting TPN orders.
- Correct patient shows in the Order Entry
caption screen when pasting an order from a different patient.
- Inventory should be properly decremented on
refills.
- Verifying orders now displays the patient name
in the caption of the order entry screen.
