ASCEND-HI -- RELEASED VERSION NOTES:

NOTE: Each version is listed separately below along with its enhancement and bug fix information. References are provided that show each CSR (CSR = Customer Service Request) related to a released version.

Version 2.13.37 (12/07/2006 ) - View All Updates

Here is a list of new features and enhancements

• CSR:182 -- CURES file (Ohio) has invalid values in CDI01, PLN04, RX20.  Request: CDI01 is intermittently zero, and should be >=1. RX20 field should never be NULL.  Resolution: The RX20 field, where the refills are NULL, is now populated report with a zero (0) value. Otherwise, it is populated with the number of refills contained in the refills field of the order.  The CDI01 field will now always have a value of at least one (1).  NOTE:  Not all issues related to CSR 182 have been addressed in this release.  The PLN04 issue is NOT resolved in this release.

• CSR: 219 -- Ability to send correct field for TPN orders for NCPDP billing for MN Medicaid.  Request: For TPN orders only, MN Medicaid now requires that 448-ED field contain the total ML’s dispensed in the order for them to pay correctly.  Resolution: If the payer record has the "All Items in the Order" value set in Compound Quantity field, and the payer is MN Medicaid, then the 448-ED field will be filled with the result of the calculation: OrderItem.ItemQuantity * Inventory.Per * FillQuantity.  

• CSR: 253 -- Per new regulations, the DME 09.03 and DME 10.03 forms must be added to the list of available clinical documents.  Request: Add DME 09.03 and DME 10.03 forms to the available clinical documents.  Resolution:  The screens for data entry, and the forms themselves have been added to the product.

• CSR: None -- Request:  There is no ability to sort the Clinical Documents Followup report.  Resolution:  The setup screen for the report now has a pull-down menu (under the Additional Criteria/Format tab) that allows the user to select from the following sorting options: Follow-up date, Patient Name (The default is Follow-up date).

• CSR: 219 -- Ability to send correct field for TPN orders for NCPDP billing for MN Medicaid.  Request: For TPN orders only, MN Medicaid now requires that 448-ED field contain the total ML’s dispensed in the order for them to pay correctly.  Resolution: If the payer is MN Medicaid, then the 448-ED field will be filled with the result of the calculation: OrderItem.ItemQuantity * Inventory.Per * FillQuantity.  

• CSR: 222 (AHI200610180201) -- Send Triplicate Serial Number in field 454-EK.  Request:  New York law changes require the addition of the triplicate number placed in the 454-EK field for the NCPDP billing format per the request of the Medicaid Inspector General of the State of NY .  Resolution: When the prescribing doctor’s address is in New York , AND the triplicate serial number is placed into the “Triplicate” field in the order screen, then the triplicate number will appear in the electronic record in the 454-EK field.

• CSR: 223 (AHI200611010307) -- Increase Modifier Field to 8 Characters.  Request:  Need to be able to use 4 modifiers when filing Medicare electronic claims. Currently, claims can only have 3 modifiers.  Resolution: Added the ability to include a fourth modifier.

• CSR: 224 -- Separation Line For Clinical Documents When Printing Multiple Documents.  Request: No blank lines are seen between clinical document notes when printing multiple documents on report or in print preview.  Resolution: Separation line added to clinical documents when printing multiple documents.

• CSR: 225 -- Home Health Agency Screen Cursor Default Location.  Request: On Home Health Agency form, have the cursor default to the selection list when the form is first opened.  Resolution: Cursor is now defaulted to the selection list when the form is first opened.

• CSR: 230 (AHI200610311123) -- Alter Cost Of Goods Report To Capture Lot Cost.  Request: Need the Cost of Goods report to capture the cost history of supplies. The logic of the report does not reflect lot/price history. As it stands, there is not a cost of goods report that allows the client to capture the true cost of goods at any point in time as the general acquisition cost may or may not be updated with each receipt of goods. Each instance of this data being updated will result in different report totals.  Resolution:  Resolved.

• CSR: 232 (H200610250900) -- Labels not printing central pharmacy facility information.  Request: The following labels and reports are not printing the correct facility information for the "central" pharmacy when an order is assigned to a multi-facility counter is used.  Syringe label, Factor label, Supply label, Drug Education form.  NOTE: Delivery label cannot be done - there is no reference to the facility in the linked information.  Resolution: Added code to each of the labels/reports to cause the central facility information to print when the central facility is selected.

• CSR: 233 -- DC'd By Isn't Recorded When Order Is DC'd From Within The Order Screen.  Request:  When an order is discontinued from within the Order screen, the identity of the user who discontinued the order should be recorded.  Resolution: The identity of the user who discontinued the order is now recorded when an order is discontinued from within the Order screen.

• Added the display of the Form Type on the clinical documents form data entry screen.  Now, when editing a clinical document, the form type (i.e., FORM: CMN 10.02A) is displayed at the bottom of the form (just to the right of the Cancel button).

•   CSR:AHI200610180201 -- Modified the NCPDP billing format to comply with New York state regulation that went into effect on October 19th, 2006.  Now, when the payer has the option set in the payer record, the 454-EK field of the NCPDP record will contain the "serial number" (the Triplicate field in the Inventory table).  Otherwise, the "Scheduled Prescription ID Number" is sent in the 454-EK field (per the current NCPDP specifications).
• CSR: AHI200611021005 -- In an NCPDP billing transaction transmission, when set as an option for the selected payer and a COMPOUND is being billed, a special version of the 442-E7 element is now placed into the message.  In this case, the Dispensed Qty will always be the "container value" which is what certain payers are using when paying off of in the claim. 
• For each payer, there is now a dropdown menu in the Electronic Billing tab of the payer record that allows the user to set the option of whether to include the special version of the 442-E7 element in the billing transaction. The "Compound Quantity" dropdown inside the NCPDP frame sets the billing option to "All Items In The Order" or "Only Charged Items In The Order" (this option causes the electronic billing transaction to include the special additional element).  Note that the default for this value is "All Items In The Order" (do NOT include the special 442-E7 element in the billing  transaction), which is the way most payers expect to see the transaction.
• CSR:AHI200610311742 -- On the batch refill screen, the next refill date shows (instead of the fill stop date).

Here is a list of things fixed

• CSR: 237-- All Facilities setting (FacilityRef=0) does not work for all tables.  Request:  Make "All Facilities" setting work for all tables.  Resolution: Resolved.

• CSR:252 -- In Payers screen, some field values don't initially display.  Request: In the payers screen, when the screen is first activated, some field values do not initially show up for the first payer displayed.  If the user clicks on another payer, and then clicks back onto the first payer displayed, the data re-appears in the proper locations on the form. Solution: Modified the code to not repopulate the affected fields when the form is loading.

• In an NCPDP billing reversal transaction transmission, the NABP number is now placed into the header.  This resolves the issues of rejected reversal transactions.

• CSR: None -- Request:  In a Citrix environment, when a user is Reversing a Claim and submitting it to HealthTrans, and then clicks the “x” button to close the print preview e-billing screen, the program ‘freezes up’.  This error only occurs when the use initiated the screen from the top-screen menu.  Resolution:  The opening mode for the screen was non-modal when the user initiated it from the top-screen menu (vs. right-click popup menu, where the screen is opened modally).  The screen now opens modally even when initiated by the top-screen menu. 

• CSR: 221 (H200611060915) -- Error 9 Prospective Clinical Checks.  Request:  Eliminate the appearance of “Error 9” as it relates to Prospective Clinical Checks.  Resolution: Resolved.
• CSR: 226 (H200610101009) -- Error 0 when editing Security Groups for multi-facility site.  Request: An error occurs when trying to bring up Groups under Security.  The problem appears in a multi-site location, and all tables (including SecurityGroups) were made “All Facilities” recently.  Error is "0"; no description; Location: DisconnectedRecordsets - FillDataComboBox.  Resolution: Corrected in earlier version.  Unable to replicate in current version.
• CSR: 227 (H200610050830) -- Minimum Bill/Allowable Doesn't Work.  Request: In the OTC pricing schedule, with a specific value specified as minimum, a price lower than the minimum can still be billed.  Resolution: Minimum value is now working.
• CSR: 231 (H200610261400) -- Claim No Longer Shows Under Financials Tab.  NOTE: This fix also resolves related CSRs: H200610231749 and H200610231750.  Request: Some claims created in the system are not visible on Financials tab; however  show when a Find Claims is done; also shows on some financial reports (Claim Log) but not others (A/R Report). While looking at the data on the record, found the OriginalClaimRef field is blank and should be the same value as ClaimRef. When we filled in that value for claims, they now show on Financials tab for the respective patients.  Resolution:  OriginalClaimRef field is no longer left blank.

• CSR:219 -- Testing indicated that, when e-billing a compound, the 448-ED fields are now being populated with the correct values when the payer is MN Medicaid.  However, the 448-E7 field was not containing the correct value when the payer's NDC Compound Quantity was set to "Use Fill Quantity In The Order".  Resolution:  Modified the E7 field creation logic to work with the special code added to accommodate the new MN Medicaid requirement.  The E7 field is now filled with the "Fill Quantity" of the order when the payer's NDC Compound Quantity was set to "Use Fill Quantity In The Order".

• Errors that occurred when performing a database export (used to be called backup) have been eliminated.  Handling of the differences between the MS Access, MS SQL Server 7, MS SQL Server MSDE, MS SQL Server 2000 and MS SQL Server 2005 have been addressed in the exports.

• CSR: AHI200611021005 -- The "container value", when used in an electronic billing transaction (for compounds only), is the quantity of containers, such as bags, cassettes, etc. in an order.  This number is used for the 442-E7 value for order with compounds when the payer associated with the order has the "Compound Quantity" dropdown inside the NCPDP frame of the payer screen set to "Use Fill Quantity In The Order".   When this is the case, the "container value" is derived from the "Dispensed Qty" field shown on the Order screen.
• CSR: AHI200611021005 -- An additional change was made to the Ascend-HI executable to eliminate a potential error related to the HCPCS code retrieval function.

NOTE: To determine the date of the First Databank files currently installed into your database, follow the steps of:

1. Open your Ascend-HI program and navigate to UTILITIES/INVENTORY/INVENTORY in order to bring up the INVENTORY screen.
2. Click on the SEARCH button to activate the SEARCH screen.
3. In the title bar of the SEARCH screen, the current date is displayed.
