IMPORTANT: Must have install rights to be able to run the client setup.
  1. Download UPDATE.EXE to the Ascend\Update folder on the Ascend file server and launch it. From any of the Ascend workstations run the Ascend\Update\client_setup.msi to install the latest client. Once the latest client has been installed, you can run the latest client from the workstation just installed and you should be promted to update the server database. Once this has completed, other workstations will just need to run the Ascend\Update\client_setup.msi to install the latest client.
  2. If the workstation already has an older version of Ascend, the installation should upgrade the existing version to the current version. If you run into problem, try uninstalling the previous installation then installing the new client.

 

Download the latest Ascend Update. This contains the latest program version.

 

Download the latest Ascend Client Software. Use this to install on new computers that do not already have the Ascend Client v. 5.3.1 or newer already installed. This contains all the prerequisites necessary for the program (.NET Framework 3.5, Crystal Reports Ocras, etc.)

If you are running Ascend in a mixed environment (using the same database for both Ascend and Ascend-HI), then you need to be running at least Ascend-HI version 2.14.49 before installing Ascend.
